Getting There: Train

From Budapest - 6 hours to Zagreb and 8 hours to Split - I would not recommend an overnight train to anyone that could avoid it but it is definitely an experience.

Around Croatia...

Green Farmers Market (Split)

When we stayed in Airbnbs we loved getting food from local markets and cooking up a meal for ourselves in the accommodations. This market was the perfect place to spend some time looking for fresh produce to make a great meal!

Bacvice Beach & Boardwalk Restaurants/Bars (Split)

This central beach is the best place to cool down and enjoy the day. Although, not huge in size it does offer a large selection of restaurants/bars and a boardwalk that connects to other beaches.

Krka National Park

We didn’t visit the National Park but from everyone we spoke to who did, I would highly recommend it.

Trip to Hvar and Brac Islands

We only did day trips to these islands but a lot of people suggest to do overnight stays and party. We loved the crystal clear waters on the island of Brac.

Only an hour bus ride from Split this little town on the water is an amazing getaway from the crowds in Dubrovnik and Split. We stayed with a family friend in a beautiful home on a hill with a view of Split and the islands all around. Promajna has a few lovely restaurants and is a great spot to connect to other towns. You can walk along the water for hours and find local shops and restaurants.

River Tour

When we were staying in Promajna we were able to book a river rapid boat journey through our family friends. I would recommend looking in advance to see if these are offered when you are planning to visit because a lot of companies only operate during the high tourist seasons June-August.
