Getting There: Bus
*We realized last minute that the Eurostar connecting London to Paris was too expensive, so we found a megabus scheduled for Paris instead, saving ourselves over 400 euros. We didn’t mind a few extra hours on the bus.
Reason: An airbnb is the way to go when you’re doing longer stays in popular cities. You have your own place to come back to at the end of the day and you can get a good night sleep . Our airbnb was 100 euros a night which was less than the average 50-60euros per person per night to stay in a shared room hostel in Paris.
I wouldn't suggest eating on the Champs because of high tourist prices but Pizza Pino is a mainstay on the street and has been for years. I dreamed of this pizza after my first visit to paris and returning on this trip did not disappoint.
This beautiful village nestled on the tallest hill in the 18th arrondissement offers spectacular views of the city skyline and great dining options for a romantic, traditional french date!
Laduree is a must when in Paris. There are many locations around the city but my favorite is right on the Champs- Elysees. You can eat in the restaurant or grab your favourite snack - macaroons of course and enjoy your treats with a view of the Arc de Triomphe.
Some of the most high end, haute couture shops and houses are in Paris. You could spend years wandering the streets of Paris and still never see all of the designer stores. Window shopping in this city is the best!
For something without the glam and fashion you can head to La Boutique 14 Quai de la Mégisserie, 75001 Paris, France - the fresh flowers and interior decoration in this store are dreamy!
Parks in Paris are not hard to come by - this city is full of lush, beautifully manicured green spaces. You can bring a picnic and enjoy people watching.
You can easily take a quick train to Versailles. Crowds are big so try to buy your tickets online and in advance. OR to avoid any crowds at all head to Versailles on Monday when entrance inside is closed but the gardens are open and you can get up close to the palace without the mobs of people.
