A Truly EPIK Hotel - Montreal, Canada
WHERE TO STAY: EPIK Hotel
I have visited Montreal a few times and each time fall more in love with the charm, history and beauty of this vibrant French speaking city in Quebec, Canada.
I started my hotel search for this weekend getaway with smaller boutique hotels in Old Montreal because I love the charm and local feel of a small hotel. I'm also a sucker for exposed brick walls and you don't often find that in larger chain hotels. I wanted to be in central Old Montreal because there are so many restaurants, bars, cafes and the idyllic cobble stone streets that make you feel like you might be in Paris, France.
When I found EPIK Hotel I knew it was the one! With just 10 rooms and suites, featuring original stonework and large windows that open onto St-Paul Street or Old Montreal’s iconic architecture. Located in the epicenter of Old Montreal next to reputable art galleries, eclectic shops and world class dining, Epik Montreal is just steps away from historic sites, shopping, vibrant nightlife, arts and entertainment and festivals galore.
I reached out to the lovely people at EPIK and they were kind enough to jump on board with collaborating! When we arrived we were completely surprised to learn they had booked us in the penthouse suite! I was looking forward to a charming room but this was truly something special.
This penthouse is sprawled out across three floors and features its own kitchen, dining room, proper living room and a seperate TV living room with fire place and french doors.
Also on the first floor is a huge patio that would be amazing in the summer and a bathroom with a large sauna.
Making your way up to the second floor you will find the master bedroom with a huge beams, beautiful windows and more exposed brick looking down to the living/dining area below. Also on the second floor is another bathroom with a bath tub and walk in shower..
On the third floor is the second bedroom with glass sliding doors that will take you to the second patio, which again would be incredible for the spring/summer/fall months. We still took advantage of the beautiful view of the Basilica Notre Dame even though it was -20C.
STAY AT EPIK:
PENTHOUSE: For any party, gathering, birthday celebration etc. With surround sound music throughout the entire penthouse and beautiful views of the city and enough space to easily accommodate up to 10 people I would say this is the best spot in Montreal to book!
ROOM/SUITE: You still want to enjoy the French charm, exposed brick, beautiful views and be centrally located in Old Montreal without breaking the bank on the penthouse.
The staff was lovely, gave amazing recommendations for dinner, drinks, breakfast, lunch and shopping! Breakfast is included in all rates and is a charming buffet style meal served in the hotel lobby overlooking Rue St. Paul. There is also a beautiful restaurant/lounge/bar area in the back of the hotel that can be rented for private events and is absolutely beautiful!
Thank you so much for having us!
