Planning A Quick Trip
Day trips or weekend trips are a great way to get your travel fix when you can’t afford a flight or get time off work for a long journey. I love taking day or weekend trips because it allows you to step away from your daily routine and experience something new and exciting!
The great thing about most day or weekend trips is that you can plan them in advance or last minute depending on your schedule. In the winter months I love planning ski trips and chalet weekends, places with great skating and winter activities and in the summer I love to head to vibrant cities, warm locations, and places with fresh water lakes and hiking paths.
Things to think about….
Before booking a place - can you get there by car? If so, how long is the drive? You don’t want the drive to be longer than your stay
When looking at a place to stay, whether it be Airbnb or a hotel, make sure you do your history and look online for reviews and even social media for pictures from previous guests
Decide on the type of trip you want...adventure or relaxation or a bit of both and find a spot that can give you both
Planning a Romantic Trip
Look into an excursion - I love wine tasting, a cooking class, boutique shopping
Find adorable restaurants in the area that will complement your romantic evenings
Pack picnic necessities or buy fresh local foods for a picnic
Planning a Girls Trip
When booking a place with your girlfriends I’d suggest Airbnb - You can find larger spaces for more affordable prices than most hotels
Look into excursions that all of your friends will enjoy and if you can’t make sure there are a few different options!
Load up on snacks, alcohol and treats!
Planning a Solo Trip
When booking a place for one make sure it’s in a vibrant area where you can easily make friends OR if you want peace and tranquility for your solo adventure book a hotel or Airbnb that is cozy and relaxing.
Plan whatever you want to do and don’t think about anyone else - you’re on your own!
