The Perfect Weekend at The Talbott Hotel
Chicago is a city made up of what feels like a bunch of little cities. Popular spots to stay during your visit include Magnificent Mile, River North, West Loop, New East Side and Streeterville. (See our video recap of this beautiful city below!!)
When I first started thinking about where I might stay in Chicago I went to Airbnb, as I usually do but found the options to be limited and pricey compared to hotels.
When I switched my search to hotels I almost immediately found The Talbott Hotel and thought it was adorable. A part of the Joie de Vivre Boutique Hotel Collection, described as “a collection of hotels with heart” The Talbott is located in the heart of River North close to the luxury shopping of Oak St. and the world famous Mag Mile.
Upon our check in we were greeted by the friendliest staff I have ever met at any hotel, which immediately confirmed their company motto "hotels with heart" in my mind. Every staff member we encountered had the loveliest energy, warm smiles, local recommendations and kind wishes for our stay in their city.
Having recently completed a multi-million dollar renovation The Talbott’s rooms and amenities are as impeccable as it’s staff. Starting from the moment you walk in, the vibrant lobby leads you to the hotel restaurant and bar, 20East on your right and a warm and inviting lounge/seating area on your left.
The hotel suites are spacious and beautifully decorated in a neutral palette with modern design accent pieces. Hotel light fixtures are huge for me because I find that most hotel lights are so white and bright they make feel like you’re in a bad change room instead of a place you want to relax and call home during your vacation. The upgraded light fixtures at The Talbott are beautifully warm and inviting.
Other features we noticed and loved were the white marble window sills, golden chairs, champagne-toned bed frames and bright & airy washrooms with their signature bath products (which I am obsessed with!) The combination of the rooms contemporary yet elegant style would make any one feel luxurious and at ease.
Thank you so much The Talbott Hotel for having us...we look forward to the next stay!
